I took this picture the other day over at my son’s house. These birds were flying around in the early morning and were still doing it in the evening.
At church this Sunday the worship was so refreshing, it was like being in a time of Oasis.
In a Bible study, by Beth Kinder we are reading a book called Stronghold. It’s about the ways God is our true stronghold. A “fortress” is aka a stronghold.
We were singing “In Christ Alone”. The last verse says:
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
Til He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I’ll stand.
My heart began to hear:
It is in my strength you do stand.
You are right when you realize that at times and during some seasons your own strength is not enough.
But you, my child, are not limited to or hindered by your own strength or ability to stand.
In fact quite the opposite is true when you recognize that your own strength is surely not enough, then you are correctly prositioned and aligned for my perfect strength which is perfected in your weakness to manifest.
When you feel so weak that you literally need to fall. Do so. Trust that I will be there. I will hold you for a time.
I will freshen you then lift you up to enter life secure in my strength which is my love.
Isaiah 40:29 He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.
Psalm 119:28 My soul is weary with sorrow; strengthen me according to your word.
Eph 6:10 Finally be strong IN the LORD and IN his mighty power.
Isa 40:31 but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
2 cor 12:9-10
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.
Neh 8:10 Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.”
Psalm 22:19 But you, LORD, do not be far from me. You are my strength; come quickly to help me.
