As we celebrate Christmas, may we remember the Hope we were offered that first Christmas when a tiny baby was born from the Virgin Mary. Fully God and fully man, but without a sin nature. Holy.
Our hope is not the same as others. It is based on a Living Lord, who has promised NEVER to abandon us. No matter what is going on, (or isn’t going as we wish it was), in our lives we have this Hope that God is Emmanuel and will walk with us. Always. Forever. No matter what.
1 Peter 1:3-6
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
For many of us, the church season leading up to Christmas is called “Advent”. It is a time to remember not just the first Coming of Jesus but also that He is God. He has come, He will come and He is continually coming (present).
In the beginning Elohim, created the heavens and the earth. But the beginning was not really the beginning for “I AM” aka God has always been.
The basic meaning behind the name Elohim is one of strength or power of effect. Elohim is the infinite, all-powerful God who shows by His works that He is the creator, sustainer, and supreme judge of the world. “Bring to an end the violence of the wicked and make the righteous secure—you, the righteous [Elohim] who probes minds and hearts” (Psalm 7:9). I love remembering that God, (Elohim, “I AM”) came as Emmanuel, a baby to grow and then to die in order that we could have his very present help during every single time of need. “I AM” is ALL we need and not only that He is also Emmanuel, God With Us.
In church Sunday we were singing a song with Keep Watch, Take Heart and I knew I would make this poster. And that since I am very blessed to live in Florida, it would have the beach as a background.
Remember God said to the sea, “This far and no further”? (Job 38:11). That difficult thing in our life has been told, “this far and NO further” too. And we also have Emmanuel with us.
From the Heart of Abba:
Come away with Me.
Step aside from the hustle and bustle of life.
Come apart and simply “be”,
Allow My love to wash over you.
Practice being present to and with Me,
Irregardless of how you are feeling,
Or what is going on around you.
My arms are always open to receive you.
Will you enter my embrace of pure holy love?
Refreshing Love to restore your soul.
This is an older one that reappeared today. Perfect for the Advent Season or any Season of Change.
